Leadership Gifts

Tufts StudentParents are encouraged to support the university at all levels of giving. Leadership gifts qualify parents for membership in the following special donor recognition societies:

Trustees Circle
$50,000 and up
Recognizes the governing body of the university that carries forward Tufts’ commitment to deepen its influence in areas of active citizenship, international issues, teaching and learning.

President’s Circle
$25,000 to $49,000

A tribute to the sitting president of Tufts University, who cultivates students who demonstrate breadth, prespective, awareness, and a sense of responsibility that grows from a liberal education.

Society of Tufts Fellows
$10,000 to $24,999
Founded in 1983 by visionary alumni and friends who, along with other exceptionally generous donors, were committed to enhancing the reputation and influence of Tufts.

Founders
$5,000 to $9,999
Named for the original twenty-one founders of the university who, in 1852, signed the charter organizing Tufts College.

Cornelia M. Jackson
$2,500 to $4,999
Cornelia M. Jackson bequeathed her estate in 1895 to create Jackson College for women and the Jackson Professorship in Political Science.

Silvanus Packard
$1,500 to $2,499
Named after the philanthropist and charter trustee Silvanus Packard, in whose honor Packard Hall is named.

Henrietta Noble Brown
$1,000 to $1,499
In 1893, Henrietta Noble Brown received the first baccalaureate degree conferred on a woman by Tufts College. In 1895, then Mrs. Durkee, she also received the first master’s degree conferred on a woman at Tufts.

Gardner C. Anthony
$1,000 to $1,499
Honors the first dean of the College of Engineering, Gardner C. Anthony, who took the position without salary with the understanding that his compensation would depend on the success income of the college.
