The Tufts Parents Program serves as a bridge between families and their students at the university. We are your resource at Tufts. Throughout the academic year, the Parents Program hosts events on and off campus to keep families engaged with their students' Tufts experience and connected to the rich academic and cultural life of the university. There are many ways for parents to stay connected—please explore the options by using the links on this page.
Pandemic Flu Planning
In August 2006 President Lawrence S. Bacow launched a committee to prepare the university for the possibility of pandemic influenza. Since then a team of senior university administrators has met regularly to plan the university's response. Please follow this link for the latest information.
Seasonal flu clinics held in mid-September had unprecedented demand, and over 2,000 students have already been vaccinated.
Health Service plans to hold additional seasonal flu clinics when vaccine becomes available; they will advertise additional student clinics then. Seasonal flu does not usually hit until January or February, and they anticipate being able to vaccinate students well before then.
If your child becomes ill, please encourage him or her to not attend class to help reduce the transmission rate of the flu.
We are anxiously awaiting shipments of H1N1 vaccine, but do not yet have an estimated delivery date.
